Zul'Gurub – Story
1,500 years ago, the great Gurubashi Empire was destroyed by civil war. Atal'ai, a powerful group of troll priests, summoned the avatar Hakkar, the Soulflayer, an ancient and terrible blood god. The great troll empire fell even though the priests were defeated and eventually exiled. In preparation for Hakkar's arrival in the physical realm, the exiled priests fled to the Swamps of Misery.
The Atal'ai priests discovered that Hakkar's physical form couldn't be summoned unless he was in the capital of the Gurubashi empire. In Zul'Gurub Jin'do, the Hexxer, enslaved several Gurubashi priests to help him summon Hakkar to Azeroth. The trolls of the country joined together to send a group of high priests to the ancient capital to subdue the blood god. Each priest was a strong champion of the primal gods, bat, tiger and spider, but they were eventually defeated by Hakkar's influence. The incredible power of the Soulflayer began to feed the champions and aspects.
Zul'Gurub – The Most Efficient Route
This 20-player raid instance is located in northeastern Stranglethorn Vale. It was released in patch 1.7.1 on September 13, 2005. Zul'Gurub is considered an outer zone like Zul'Farrak. This means that riding in the instance can be done. Zul'Gurub is home to the capital of the jungle-troll tribes, which are led by the Gurubashi who worship the terrible blood god Hakkar. It is believed Zul'Farrak was once part of this empire. However, it was destroyed during the Great Sundering. This is the most efficient route through Zul'Gurub:
- Cross the first bridge and enter the instance. Turn right and go up the hill to kill the High Priestess Jeklik. Continue up the instance by following the right path. You can either go up the hill to kill Blood Lord Mandokir, or you can continue up the instance by following the right path. If you wish to kill him, go up the hill and follow the path until you find a pyramid. Go outside and kill him if you wish. Continue the way to the Temple of Hakkar and cross the bridge to your right. Here you will find the Blood God Hakkar.
Zul'Gurub – Reputation farming with Zandalari on Yojamba Island
You can earn reputation with the Zandalar tribe by killing trash mobs or bosses in Zul'Gurub. Additionally, you can complete repeatable and special quests that require items to be submitted from the instance. A Zul'Gurub run will earn you approximately 2,500 to 3,002 reputation with the Zandalari tribe. Before the first expansion, The Burning Crusade was released, the main reason to ruffarm with the Zandalari tribe was enchantments for leg, head, shoulder armor. Popular alchemy and enchantment recipe are also available. Herbalists can also use the Zul'Gurub Blood Scythe to grow blood vines to craft various items.
