Yesterday, July 16, American WoW players discovered that switching IDs did not result in them receiving rank 1 of PvP Essence Conflict or Discord. This was despite having already earned a 1,000+ rating (the requirement to rank 2). Many speculated that this might be a bug on the World of Warcraft forums.
Soon after, Kaivax, the Community Manager, joined the discussion and confirmed:
"Correct. This is a bug we will be hotfixing. We are currently working on a fix to all players who have their PvP crate opened.
The fix was already available on WoW's live servers shortly after. The promised workaround was available for those already hurt: those who had opened their PvP cache before the hotfix will need to log out and log in again once they have obtained rank 2 of Essence (assuming the prerequisites are met).
Last night saw a host of hotfixes that Blizzard had already announced, including some boss and class adjustments.
