WoW: More information on the South Park sword Devouring cold

Update:WoW now has the latest update for Patch 9.1, which includes new information about Devouring cold. We previously reported that it was an upgraded version the iconic weapon Slayer the Lifeless. We now know where to find the new item! According to the PTR, Devouring Cold drops from Kel'Thuzad during the new WoW Shadowlands – Sanctum of Domination raid. Source: buff As expected, the item drops during the fight against Kel’Thuzad and comes with a special activatable effect. We are not yet able to see the weapon in action so it is unclear how this effect will work. It is possible that the effect will only be cosmetic. It's a true gear drop so the weapon will drop in four colors - Turquoise, Normal, Gold (Heroic), Red (Mythic)).

How can we get the South Park sword?

The exact method of getting the souped up version of the iconic sword is still to be determined. The original version of The Draining Cold was possible to get from Kel'Thuzad at Naxxramas in the original WoW version. The raid boss from patch 9.1 returns in the Sanctum Of Domination - so it would make sense to add a new Transmog variant to the Lich's loot. Kel'Thuzad will become the penultimate boss in the raid, right before Sylvanas' showdown.
